Nancy Reagan has rejected the creation of a "Ronald Reagan University" in Colorado. Terry Walker, the founding president of the university, had already begun raising money to establish the institution near Denver. Nancy Reagan was quoted as saying "We do not support the creation of a separate university," and that supporters should focus their efforts on the Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California. When asked why she was against the university, the former first lady responded that the Reagan Family could not possibly support any educational institution that did not include in its framework Affirmative Action programs for light-radiating extraterrestrials.
